We've been running the Samsung Blog "Phone-per-quarter" competition for a full year now and it's been quite a fun ride. Many Blog members have been encouraged to review phones, write blog posts and generally get involved with the community.

In the 2nd quarter of 2009 we hope to achieve these things yet again but we're always striving to get better. The prize this quarter is a Samsung Pixon M8800 handset!

We've changed the rules a bit to make it fairer and certainly more fun. Read below to see how it all works:

How it works

We award Samsung Points for for blogging about Samsung Mobile and general mobile technology, commenting on blog posts, and writing phone reviews. The target this quarter is 1,500 1,200 points and the first 5 Samsung Blog members to reach this target will then be entered into the second phase of the competition. In Phase 2 the final 5 will receive a new fun challenge (to be revealed closer to the time) to be ultimately judged by Samsung.

In Q109 we introduced bonus points to the competition. These are awarded by the moderators at their discretion for content that is:

• in the "featured" section (only the best stuff makes it here)
• featured on the Samsung profile on MXit (phone reviews and blog posts)

We encourage you to create high-quality work that:

1. does not infringe on copyright law (simply, no verbatim copying of others' work. You'll be blocked from the Blog altogether for this offence.)
2. credits its sources where applicable.
3. contains accurate information. Always double-check your facts.
4. has been checked for spelling and grammar.
5. has a decent number of words otherwise it will be treated as a comment placed in the wrong section.
6. is relevant to this Blog.

A few rules

• DO NOT use blog posts for support queries. Rather call Samsung Support at 0860 SAMSUNG or click on 'Support & FAQ' in the top menu.
• Please search the Blog to see if your topic has already been covered. Duplicated posts that offer nothing new will be deleted.
• The Samsung Blog moderators reserve the right to revoke a member's user points for any action that violates these rules and the Samsung Blog's Terms of Use
• The decision as to which content receives Bonus points is not contestable so don't ask.
• You must remain a member of the Samsung Blog for the full duration of the competition or your prize will be given to the next qualifying Samsung Blog member.
