We're happy to announce that the Android Eclair update has been approved by network operators and is now available for the Samsung Galaxy Spica I5700. Issues that have been raised such as the “Bluetooth” issue have been rectified.
At present the update is available through Samsung's Service channels but efforts are currently being made for an end-user solution. (Please see the list of Samsung-approved service centres throughout South Africa or call 0860 726 786 for your nearest branch).
If you have any questions regarding the Cupcake to Eclair update, feel free to contact the Service team on 0860 726 786 or right here on the Blog in the Support section.
Regards,
Samsung Mobile team

Upgrade for phones in India
Submitted by Prashantak (not verified) on Tue, 2010-07-27 23:34.That's a very great news but not very good for the users in India like me . I am a user of Spica galaxy and a android developer . I looked into the service centers but none of them was in India. Is there no plans to support this upgrade in India ? If not physically can you make a official notes that talks about how this upgrade actually happens so that we can try out here and recommend others .
Having a lots of expectations and positive response from your side.
