Hey I'm back, it's been a while since I last did this, so I thought to give this F480 a run. I was on Facebook last night when I discovered a status message saying that this person has just updated his profile via MXit!

I just thought that this guy was fooling around when to my amazement another of my contacts posted something very similar, also including how it is done. I quickly logged off and tried it, and you won't believe what happen next, I WAS UPDATING MY STATUS VIA MXit!

As soon as you visit most wap sites you presented with a advert saying "pimp my Mxit". By downloading this, you get a form of Mxit with a preloaded with a skin. These forms of Mxit are highly adviceded against. My friend recently got caught by this, thinking he was getting a good deal. But unfortunately, this Mxit lead to his account being hacked into. This Mxit is not a product of MXit Lifestyle, and therefore Mxit cannot be held responsible for any damage that may occure. It's better to download the original Mxit from www.mxit.co.za/wap.

Samsung has a contact on MXit (find out how to connect with us) and every week we ask our subscribers their thoughts on various mobile phone topics. Last week we asked them about how mobile phones can aid in education and we got the following responses (selected).

Eric - "Download educative sites and games. Including chatrooms to enforce interactive skills amongst learners whereby they will be able to debate on a proposed topic based on a randomly chosen subject. The sites, games and chatrooms would be equivalent to learning phases." - this is a good one. There were many responses revolving around this idea.

MXit v5.9 is out! This version replaces MXit Elite which I assume was v5.8. Why the change back to version numbers? MXit have said:

You’ll notice we no longer have MXit Elite and, soon, we won’t have MXit Pro. It caused some confusion over which was the ‘better’ version. Truth be told, all versions are great – we just work around what your phone can handle. So we’ve moved back to numbering our versions, starting with MXit 5.9 for phones that can do almost anything. MXit Pro will soon be replaced by MXit 5.9 Lite for those phones that can’t do so much.

I have noticed that MXit has been having a lot of down time lately. This doesn't normally happen.

Has anyone else noticed this change? Can anyone tell me why this is happening?

I have been with MTN since I was 14. MXit, since... wow cant remember - since the second month it was out.

Past two to three years MTN and MXit have been terrible together and always between 8 and 10PM, as MXit knows, and has been trying to sort out for the past year I think?

Every time I go on MXit the info bot tells me about them trying to sort out the problem we have experienced with MTN during that time.

How many times do you guys try sort it out? Will it ever get fixed? Just a question.

I want to ask the MXit team to consider this option on the MXit application. If someone ever delete your contact there should be a confirmation message stating that this specific person deleted you.

I mean you find that someone logged off whilst they deleted you and you don't know.

This feature will be awesome and relieving.

More and more parents are banning their young children from MXit because of their fears of potential danger in Chat Rooms when rules are broken. Because MXit is concerned for the safety of our users, we are giving parents peace of mind by allowing them to block Chat Zones. This feature is being run on a trial basis only. We urge you to take this opportunity to educate your children about responsible online safety and to keep their information private.
